SmartGateways.nl is a Dutch company born from a passion for technology and smart solutions. What started as a hobby has, over the past six years, grown into an international player in smart home sensors and gateways. We help users around the world make their homes smarter and more efficient. Our founder has been active in the home automation world for years and understands firsthand how fun, but also sometimes challenging, it can be to get smart sensors and systems to work properly. We were the first company to develop a wireless smart meter gateway, enabling users to monitor their energy consumption from smart meters on popular platforms such as Home Assistant, Domoticz, and many other automation solutions. This was a true breakthrough for the smart home community, finally giving people easy access to their energy data, allowing them to monitor and optimize their usage through their favorite systems.

But our innovations didn’t stop there. We were also the first to enable the reading of water meters—both analog and digital (like Kamstrup), as well as via the P1 port of the smart meter. Additionally, we pioneered providing insights into district heating consumption with our WarmteLink and Kamstrup gateways. With our Water Level gateway, users can even monitor water levels, making it useful for everything from rain barrels to larger water sources. And this is just a glimpse of our wide range of smart solutions.

What makes SmartGateways.nl unique is that we develop everything ourselves—from hardware to software. This means we have full control over the quality and functionality of our products. Our gateways are equipped with a REST-API (JSON) and can be easily connected via MQTT to virtually all home automation products and cloud services.
